Got a billboard but not sure where to start with your ad? No worries—Billboards Etc is here to guide you through the process!
One of the first things we’ll ask is, “How would you like your edges?”
If you’re not sure how to answer, the best solution is simple: send us a photo of your billboard! A clear picture from both the front and back will help us determine the type of edges you’ll need for a successful installation.
Email your photos to [email protected], along with the exact measurements (top to bottom and left to right).
For example, a client once sent us a photo of their sign, and by checking the backside, we could tell he needed a wrap with pockets. We typically provide 6″ of wrap with a 3″ pocket, ensuring plenty of material to secure the billboard. But don’t worry—we can customize your wrap and pocket size to fit your specific needs!
As you can see in the photo, the poles supporting the sign are flush with the billboard face. To install your vinyl, you’ll need to cut your pipe to fit between the poles and pull the vinyl up behind the face. Vertically cut the pocket and tuck any unused portion behind the billboard—just be sure not to cut into the live area of your ad! For installations like this, we recommend a full-bleed design for the best results.
Every now and then, we get asked to add grommets to billboard pockets. While it might seem necessary, it’s actually not! Installers simply make a small hole in the pocket and hook a ratchet through it to achieve a secure, tight pull on the rods. Check out the photo below for a visual!
Once the decision is made about the size and the edges we make sure your artwork is set up correctly. We make sure your wrap has ink going all the way to the end of the pocket. So the backside wrap with have color. We typically do this by mirroring your artwork to the edge of your wrap. If you include bleed in your artwork just let us know and we will use the bleed you supply. You can view what an installation looks like by going to LINK. Always hire a professional installer.
